I have tremendous respect for the staff at ThumbsUpSoft, their products and their incredible support. With that said, I must say that I was terribly disappointed in StarTap 4.93. I think it still needs a lot of work, at least when installed on a Jornada 545. There were so many things going wrong, I decided to reinstall 4.28. Some of the more irritating problems were: inability to hibernate (hibernating was possible but caused components like Insert Phrase to fail, the device to slow down to a crawl, necessitating a warm reset, and the close button to stop working); strange placement of icons when "arranged;" failure of alarm systems to sound; created an inability of the PPC to find other programs' system files (especially Startler.exe); and after executing a program from StarTap, instead of returning to the StarTap screen, the program opened the Desktop (Today) screen. The one bug that's been reported that I didn't experience was flipping the command bar to the opposite end of the screen. If you own a Jornada 540 series, you might find it wise to stay with your current version until they've fixed all the bugs. Conversely, the new GigaBar(1.58)is almost flawless, and corrects many of the compatibility issues with other programs. Back to the drawing (programming?) board.
