Decided to try another reinstall - killed startap ond giga bar, then reinstalled.
Now the Hide tool works - but only when I tap the bottom of the screen - not the top (did not try this prior to this last reinstall so do not know if this is consisntnet.)
Mystery - Ok on E100, not on E115
will look to see if I've messed with the Icon spacing / offsets that might have cuased this - I use small Icons and cram as much onto the startap screen as I can - so have messed with some of these settings -
