Use the Desktop Menu: Help / Register to bring up the Registration dialog. Your current Registration Key should show. Select Advanced, and then select Save. In StarTap's directory, you'll find a file called OwnerInfo.str. Copy this file to your Desktop Computer, in a place where you can find it later. If something awful happens, and you have to clear the memory on your PPC, just reinstall StarTap, copy OwnerInfo.str to the StarTap directory, then go to Help / Register / Advanced, and select Restore. Your copy of StarTap should be registered again. Also, it will set your Name into your Owner Properties just as it was before. Don't change it! If you change your name, you'll have to contact us for a new Key.
Pretty simple: tap on undo!
Under Edit, there's an item with a check mark: "Show Tips." Of course, the reason you're reading Help is because you've discovered it's disabled, and CAN'T be turned off. Sorry! Register your copy of StarTap, and you'll be able to turn off those annoying dialog boxes!
Select Properties from the menu or toolbar, and change the entry in the Name field.
First, select View Img in Control Panel / StarTap / Images. Then, create a New Folder on the Desktop, and call it Photos. Now, create a New shortcut, but don't fill in the Application field. Instead, Browse for an image document. When that's been selected, then "Internal" should show in the Application field, and a thumbnail image should show as the icon. Give it a different Name, if you want, and hit OK. The thumbnail image should show on the desktop,
Tap on Delete on the toolbar or menu, then tap on the shortcut. If you delete the wrong one, don't forget about Undo and the Recycle Bin!
In the root folder, there's a "shortcut" that's really not a shortcut at all. It's called Toolbar, and it will hide the toolbar and make it come back again. The toolbar really isn't necessary for the day-to-day operation of StarTap, so most of the time it's a waste of space. If you lose your Toolbar shortcut, or can't find it, there's another way to get the Toolbar to show again. Pop up the keyboard, and tap on "t". This has the same effect as the tapping the Toolbar shortcut. Finally, if you tap at the extreme top of the Desktop, right below the toolbar, you can hide and show it that way.
In the Desktop Menu: File / UnInstall will remove the StarTap executable, it's Button and BackUp Files, and all of it's Registry entries. If you've got a persistent problem with StarTap that you're trying to get rid of, this is the way to go. Reinstall, and everything will be clean. If you just want to get rid of the program forever and ever, do this UnInstall first and then use the Remove Programs applet to remove the remaining components (Help files, StarStub, Start Menu shortcuts, etc.).
